Ovid Showcases its OvidSP Search Modes, Nursing@Ovid and New Content Offerings at the 2009 ACRL Annual Meeting

Visit Booth #717 for In-Booth Presentations on OvidSP, Ovid Universal Search™, Nursing@Ovid, and Archival and EBook Content

New York, NY (March 12, 2009) –- Ovid, part of Wolters Kluwer Health, and a global leader in the development and delivery of customizable electronic research information for the medical, healthcare and academic markets, announced today that it will be showcasing the power and flexibility of its OvidSP search modes; Ovid Universal Search, its new premium cross-platform search solution; and Nursing@Ovid, its new nursing and allied health portal for the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) at the 2009 ACRL Conference, which begins today through March 16th at the Washington State Trade and Convention Center in Seattle, Washington. Ovid is exhibiting at Booth #717.

Visitors to the Ovid booth (#717) can attend 15-minute in-booth theatre presentations to learn more about OvidSP’s multiple Search Modes, a new cross-platform search add-on with Ovid Universal Search; and a preview of Nursing@Ovid, a new search platform targeting nursing and allied health educators, students, and professionals. Ovid is also offering a session on premium archival content and book offerings available on the OvidSP platform.

“Our products are based on direct feedback on what users are looking for to improve their research productivity, so it is always a great opportunity for us to participate in core library conferences like ACRL, to share our latest platform and content offerings and continue the important dialogue we always strive for with our customers,” said Andrew L. Popper, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management for Ovid. “For example, we’re very excited to hear what attendees have to say about Nursing@Ovid, which includes Ovid Universal Search as a core component. Nursing@Ovid is our first foray into ‘vertical’ or specialized search solutions—specific tools and interfaces dedicated to specific user groups or professional practice areas.”

Ovid’s archival offerings of both database and journal content provide a cost-effective and efficient solution for getting access to important historical literature.   At a time when budgets are tight, making a one-time purchase of archival content ensures site-wide access in perpetuity to valuable resources chronicling theories and discoveries that underpin some of the most important advancements in healthcare, science, and medicine, and that continue to inform future innovations. In addition, Ovid now offers more than 2,000 ebook titles, many of which are available for both subscription and purchase.

Lean more about these product offerings and meet with Ovid representatives at the Ovid exhibition booth #717.
