Wolters Kluwer Health Brands Ovid and Lippincott Williams & Wilkins to New York, NY (October 14, 2009) –Wolters Kluwer Health’s Ovid and Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW) journals, part of the Medical Research business unit, will be exhibiting at this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair as part of the Wolters Kluwer booth #P401, located in Hall 4.2. Representatives from Ovid, the world’s leading aggregator of online information for medical and scientific research, will be announcing a new Chinese-language interface for the OvidSP search and discovery platform, and highlighting Ovid’s new publishing partnerships and recent OvidSP functionality enhancements. LWW, a leading international publisher for healthcare professionals and students, will be showcasing its flexible and customizable online journal platform for its society partners. “Frankfurt is a great opportunity to meet with important decision-makers in publishing and to present our Ovid and LWW business developments to the marketplace,” said Karen Abramson, CEO & President of Wolters Kluwer Health Medical Research. “As China is this year’s Guest of Honor, I’m particularly excited to discuss our upcoming Chinese-language OvidSP interface with the Chinese delegates in attendance. Our expanding customer base in China for both our Ovid and LWW businesses makes it a strong focus area for us.” OvidSP’s Chinese-language interface (offered in both traditional and simplified Chinese) is scheduled for deployment later this year. Sample screenshots will be available in the Wolters Kluwer booth. Currently, OvidSP supports interfaces in French, German, and Spanish, in addition to English. Attendees can also learn about recent enhancements to OvidSP’s online journal browsing and display functionality. Ovid continues to expand its ebook and journal content offerings with recently announced partnerships with premier publishers, including Oxford University Press, as well as the Royal Society of Chemistry, AHC Media, Springer Publishing, and CIG Media. LWW journals are widely recognized among medical and nursing practitioners the world over for their currency and quality. LWW representatives will be on hand to discuss key titles covering a range of medical and nursing specialties, including new journals for 2009. LWW will also be featuring its capabilities to help societies innovate and extend their online content strategies through customizable journal websites, which are designed to enrich the journal experience for society members and subscribers. “These targeted sites are tailored to meet the specific needs of each journal’s content strategy and support member expansion,” added Abramson.
