Anesthesia & Analgesia (A&A), the first scholarly publication dedicated to anesthesiology, celebrates its 88th year of publication in 2009.

The Journal is published monthly by the International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS) and includes peer-reviewed, original clinical and research articles, providing practicing physicians, researchers and allied medical personnel in anesthesiology and related fields with a wealth of information to keep them up-to-date with the latest issues and advances in the field.

Anesthesia & Analgesia is also the official Journal of The Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists (SCA), The Society for Pediatric Anesthesia (SPA), The Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia (SAMBA), the International Society for Anaesthetic Pharmacology (ISAP), the Society for Technology in Anesthesia (STA), the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation (APSF), the American Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists (ASCCA), and the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP).
