This collective work, in which around thirty collaborators have participated, gives an understanding of epilepsy in its totality: it thus takes the reader down difficult pathways of physiopathology or classifications as far as those, always tricky, of the treatment of patients and the advice that can be given to them in their daily life, often sown with many constraints.
- The various forms of expression of the illness are also described, grouped by the lobe of origin of the crises and certain epileptic syndromes.
- Medical and surgical treatments find their place logically.
- This work has also been designed with an epidemiological purpose with an analysis of the risk factors in the occurrence of epilepsy: genetics, environmental factors and co-morbidities.
- This book is of course aimed at the epilepsy expert, but also and especially to the “generalist neurologist” and ultimately to any person treating patients with epilepsy or wishing to deepen his knowledge of epileptology.
