Bipolar Disorders is an international journal that publishes all research of relevance for the basic mechanisms, clinical aspects, or treatment of bipolar disorders. Papers on biochemistry, physiology, neuropsychopharmacology, neuroanatomy, neuropathology, genetics, brain imaging, epidemiology, phenomenology, clinical aspects, and therapeutics of bipolar disorders are included, as are papers that provide leads for development of new therapeutic strategies for these disorders.

The journal includes full-length research papers, brief reports, invited editorials, news and views, review articles, letters to the editor, rapid communications, and case reports of unusual interest.
