Selecting OvidSP resources

Changing OvidSP Resource Selections

You can change your OvidSP Resources at any time throughout your session by clicking the Ovid Resources link.

When changing your resource selections, you may either select from your resource groups or select from the All Resources list.

To select the resource(s), tick the corresponding box of individual resource and click the appropriate action button below.

Select Resource(s) updates the list of selected resources on the Main Search Page and clears any existing search history.
Select Resource(s) and Run Search updates the list of selected resources on the Main Page, clears any existing search history and re-run previous search history. This option is only available when you have already executed at least one search.
Cancel closes the popup window without making any changes to the resource selection or search history.

Note: Delete option above the window is only visible when the user has selected a personal resource group.

You can always choose to search from a single resource or from multiple resources simultaneously. To search from a single resource, click a particular resource. And to search from multiple resources, tick the corresponding check box of the resources and click the Select Resource(s) and Run Search button. OvidSP opens your session in multifile.

The OvidSP multifile limit is based on database segments rather than actual resources. It is set at 120 segments to avoid impacting your search session. An error occurs when you exceed this limit.
