Email OvidSP Jumpstarts

OvidSP's Jumpstart functionality lets you create and email shortcuts to bypassing preliminary pages and target specific places within an OvidSP session. With Ovid jumpstarts you may connect directly to:

 Certain aspects of OvidSP Jumpstarts are configured by site administrators, including:

• jumpstart access
• embedded login information
• embedded Personal Account information
• site prefixes (such as: EZ Proxy)
• logoff preferences
• news page display option

Contact your site administrator to change any of these settings.

Embedding account access information poses a substantial security risk because user name and password information display clearly when creating the email jumpstart and within the jumpstart URL that gets distributed. To exclude this information, check the appropriate box from the Create Jumpstart Page.

 OvidSP Jumpstarts bookmark content to which your site subscribes and resolve to the current version of that content.

Click the Continue button, and OvidSP opens a jumpstart form. Generally, the following steps apply when emailing jumpstarts:

	Type email address(es).
	Type your own email address.
	OPTIONAL: Type a different subject title.
	OPTIONAL: Type comments.
	Click the Send Email button to proceed.

Separate multiple email addresses with commas, not spaces.
Incorrect addresses cause the system to discard results without notice!
OvidSP emails the jumpstart and displays a confirmation page. Click the appropriate link to return to your OvidSP session.

Emailing a Jumpstart to a Saved Search

Click the Email Jumpstart icon from the Saved Searches Page of the search you want to share.

OvidSP will open a jumpstart form. Follow these steps to email the jumpstart.

 Jumpstarts to AutoAlerts differ from jumpstarts to other saved search types. Links generated from the Jumpstarts to AutoAlerts opens an OvidSP session within the resource from which the Autoalert was created. In Jumpstarts to other saved search types, an OvidSP session is opened from which the jumpstart was requested.

Emailing a Jumpstart to Journals@Ovid Full Text

Click the Email Jumpstart icon from the Full Text Article Tools section of a specific journal.

OvidSP opens a jumpstart form within the browser window.

Type in the recipient of jumpstart and click send.

When clicking the About this journal link from the full text display, you can click the Email Jumpstart link to email a jumpstart to journal information.

Emailing a Jumpstart to a Journal List

Click the Email Jumpstart icon from the journal list display.

OvidSP opens a jumpstart form within the browser window.

Type in the recipient of jumpstart and click send.

Emailing a Jumpstart to a Table of Contents

Click the Email Jumpstart icon from the Table of Contents display.

OvidSP opens a jumpstart form within the browser window. Type in the recipient of jumpstart and click send.

Emailing a Jumpstart to a Journal Image

Click the Email Jumpstart icon beside the displayed image. OvidSP opens a jumpstart form. Follow these steps to email the jumpstart.

Click the Email Jumpstart icon from either a book title list or book subject list display.

OvidSP opens a jumpstart form. Follow these steps to email the jumpstart.
