Managing search results
You may select items one at a time by selecting the checkbox next to each item.

Selected items can be printed, emailed, exported, or added to projects.
You may also select all results in the set with a single click, by checking the Select All option.

Clearing the Select All checkbox again will de-select results.
While Select All box is checked, you can manually deselect results you don't need. The Select All box will be unchecked but other results you haven't de-selected will remain checked.
Clear Selections
You can de-select individual items by de-selecting checked boxes. A quick way to clear all selected results is to check the Select All check box, and then uncheck to de-select all results.
The default is 1000 results for Select All, 200 for Print, Email or Export and 1000 for Add to My Projects, but your institution may have customized this number. When you exceed the maximum number of selected records for Select All, the system does not select any records and displays the following message.

When you exceed the maximum number of selected records for any of the output actions (Print, Email, Export and Add to My Projects) but not for Select All, the system will select the records, but gray out the options for which the selection limit is crossed. When you mouse over grayed out options, you will see a message that states:
“Your institution limits output selection to a maximum of x results. Please limit selected results to this number.”
If you only want to view the results you have selected, choose the Selected Only filter from the Filter By. This will display only your selected results without keeping in your search strategy.

If you want to keep your selected results in a separate results set, and retain that set in your search history, you can select the “Keep Selected” action.

The “Keep” action issues a “from X keep” statement in your Search History. You can also issue a keep statement by filtering to Selected Only, and then selecting Add to Search History.
