Accessing Universal Search

The goal of Ovid Universal Search is to enable a search across multiple sources.

To conduct a Universal Search, you must either be in the Basic Search or in the Advanced Ovid Search mode. These are the only two (2) search modes with Universal Search functionality. To perform a search using Ovid Universal Search first check the Universal Search box.

To conduct a Universal Search:

    1. Select Basic Search or Advanced OvidSP Search as your search mode
    2. Type the keyword as your search criteria
    3. Click Search

The Universal Search checked box is visible to subscribers and non-subscribers. However, it remains grayed out to non-subscribers as shown below:
