The export function allows you to export the citation list and selected objects to:
- Formatted files (like Word and PDF)
- Citation Managers:
- RefWorks
- Locally installed citation manager
- Tagged text files (like XML, Reprint/Medlars, BRS tagged, RIS)

When you select any of the citation managers, Ovid displays the appropriate selection choices. Clicking the Export will cause Ovid to export the results directly to EndNote, Reference Manager, etc.
The Export to Basic Text Format function allows you to export citation list and selected objects to:- Selected Results
- Select Fields to Display
- Include
Defaults:
- Citation only
- Links to Full Text in citation list (selected)
When you select BRS/Tagged (txt), Reprint/Medlar (txt), RIS (ris) or XML (xml), Ovid creates the appropriate file.
Once saved, Ovid creates the citation list as a txt file, formatted according to the user's selection choice. The browser's File Download window opens, pre-populating the filename and the file type.
- When only Citation List is being saved, the file type is as specified
