Refining Search Strategy

Find Similar Articles

OvidSP's Find Similar feature allows a quick compilation of a list of records similar in content to a specific record of interest in your Record Titles Display (or Complete Reference Display).

In the titles display of a multifile session, Find Similar is disabled if any database of the multifile does not support this functionality.

Click a record's Find Similar button to search for other records in the database which contain related words and synonymous in their titles and presents them in a new titles display.

OvidSP's Find Similar references a lexicon drawn from the National Library of Medicine's Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) Meta-thesaurus, medical dictionaries and thesauri, medical acronyms, drug and disease names, and standard American and British English dictionaries.

If no records match your find similar request, OvidSP displays a message:

OvidSP posts Find Similar results back in the search history.

Find Similar allows you continue developing search strategies even while reviewing actual records in a Search Results Display or a Complete Reference page.

Contact your site administrator to enable Find Similar in your account.
