Types of links@ovid
Links@Ovid connect OvidSP databases to a wide range of information resources, including your site's OvidSP Full Text journal subscriptions. What links display with your OvidSP records are determined by:
- Link configuration for your site
- Your site's Full Text subscriptions
- Availability of electronic Full Text
- Configuration at remote publisher sites
Full Text formats available to your site may include the following:
- HTML
- HTML and PDF
During your session, you are likely to encounter a variety of linking options that OvidSP provides.
Ovid Full Text links display records to which your site has purchased a Journals@Ovid subscription or to which you have purchased access through OvidSP's Deposit Account. You may also purchase access to Ovid Full Text through OvidSP's PayPerView. When these three types of Ovid Full Text access exist in the same session, the order of priority is applied as follows:

These link to an electronic display of the Full Text as it appears in the printed version of the journal, including table of contents, charts, images, and cited references. For details about the Ovid Full Text display, click here.
With validated access to OvidSP Full Text, your Search Results Display includes these links:

Links to a page through which you may order the article. The Document Delivery link displays when documentation delivery services have been configured in your site. A site administrator configures Links@Ovid to check for and display site-subscribed content first, then provides a Document Delivery link only if no locally held or electronic resources are available. |

Provides access to Full Text documents located on ERIC (the national education database sponsored by the United States Department of Education) through the ERIC Document Reproduction Service (EDRS). |

Opens a window display of services for external resource information related to the record. The link name may be customized by your site administrator to reflect the naming convention used in your site. |
Links@Ovid allows you to access external resources seamlessly as part of your OvidSP session.

In cases where there is only a single instance of external Full Text, the article will pop-up once you click the Full Text link, without any additional prompting by the user. available (as shown below), you will be prompted by an additional pop-up window which will ask you which article you want to see. Upon selection, the appropriate article is displayed in a new window. |

Hold down the ALT key and click the TAB to toggle between your OvidSP session and the external resource.
To ensure uninterrupted access to external resources during your OvidSP session, disable your browser's pop-up blockers.
Site administrators and external publishing providers control availability of content froIf there is more than one linkm non-OvidSP sites. If an external site is consistently not available, contact your site administrator.

Links to your site's Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) where you may find information about locally-held print resources including journals, books, and unique holdings related to the record. |

Local holdings access servers located outside of your OvidSP session. If you receive error messages when trying to use the Library Holdings link, the remote server may be unavailable. Or, too many users may be trying to access the OPAC at the same time. Try to link again after a few minutes. If you receive error messages consistently, contact your site administrator. |
