Results Manager

OvidSP's Results Manager provides you with several output options.

	Select a set of records. Selected results: Outputs only the records selected from the current Record Titles Display. All on this page: Outputs all records from the current page of the Record Titles Display. All in this set: Outputs all records from the current Results Display.
	Apply pertinent field information to record output. Choose from predefined combinations or the complete reference option that includes all database-specific fields. Click the Select Fields button, and OvidSP opens a page where you may customize a field selection.
	Select option(s) to format your record output. For more information, click here.
	Select the box if you want OvidSP to include the search history with your output records.
	Select sorting criteria to apply an order to the output of your records.
	Choose an output mode: Display, Print Preview, Email, Save or Order. For more information, click here.

Sort fields vary with databases of the multifile with multifile results. OvidSP uses aliases to apply fields across databases. However, it ignores a field when sorting in a database that does not have the field or its equivalent.

Select a Format

OvidSP lets you apply the following formats to output records:

If a record format is not available in all databases of a multifile session, it does not display in the Results Manager.

Ovid Formatdisplays record numbers and related links, followed by selected field information. The Ovid output format resembles OvidSP's Record Titles Display.

BRS Tagged Format  lets you import records manually into compatible reference software: EndNote®, ProCite®, and Reference Manager®.

Reprint/Medlars Format  displays record numbers and related links, followed by a list of selected field information. Fields display as two-letter labels.

Brief Titles Format  displays records without field names.

Direct Export Format  automatically imports selected records into compatible reference manager software such as EndNote®, ProCite®, Reference Manager®, or RefWorks.

Output Records

Select an output mode by clicking one of five buttons.

• Display:  Shows selected records with chosen field information and formatting. Includes active links.
• Print Preview:  Shows selected records with chosen field information and formatting. Use your web browser's Print function to print.
• Email:  Opens the Email Results Page from which you can send results records to a list of recipients directly from your current Results Display. For details, see the Email Ovid Content section of Emailing Content and OvidSP Jumpstarts.
• Save:  Opens the Save Results Page from which you can select from three linefeed formats and HTML.

  ASCII Text (DOS/Windows)	Displays the text in an ASCII text editor (includes option to wrap longer lines). Use your text editor's Save function.
  ASCII Text (Macintosh):	Opens an ASCII text editor formatted for Macintosh (includes option to wrap longer lines). Use your text editor's Save function.
  ASCII Text (UNIX)	Opens an ASCII text editor formatted for UNIX (includes option to wrap longer lines). Use your text editor's Save function.
  HTML	Displays text formatted in HTML.

  OvidSP's Results Manager outputs a maximum of 200 records at one time by default. To change this, contact OvidSP Customer Support.
