OvidSP provides a display to view, access more information about, and output records from any results set in your search history. OvidSP displays titles for the last set in the search history by default. Alternatively, click the Display button of another set, and OvidSP opens the Search Results display for the set.
There are six (6) default fields displayed in the results display:

In OvidSP, the Search Results Display is the same for all resources: databases, journals, and books.

| Search Aids Box | shows the terms used to retrieve the records in the display | |
| Records Title Display | displays the records of the set selected from the search history | |
| Results Manager | lets you output selected records: Display, Print Preview, Email, Save and Order |
In addition to the default fields, the following are included on each result row:

allows you to view abstracts inline, without causing a page refresh or navigation to a different page |
|
database(s) that a reference is included in is indicated, with the preferred database in-active; the additional database(s) is/are linkable to an alternative view of the reference |
|
lets you quickly compile a list of records similar in content to a specific record of interest in your Record Titles Display (or Complete Reference Display). |
|
lets you connect quickly to a display of articles in Journals@Ovid that cite the article of a record from your OvidSP session. |
|
includes a PDF icon, a "Buy Now" icon, and a "Full Text not Available" icon |
By clicking on any article, you may be able to link directly to the full article view from results display, references, similar articles, citing articles and opposing views.

Note: If no articles meet the criteria, the indicator displays zero (0). |

OvidSP retains record selections as you navigate from page to page or when you click on a link to an abstract, complete record, article, or other location. Use the Results Manager to output selected records.
Do not use your Web browser's Back and
Forward buttons. Unpredictable and undesirable results may occur. Use
only the navigational aids provided within the Ovid interface.

OvidSP provides a search aid box to show the terms (synonyms and spelling variants) used to retrieve the result set in the Result Records Display.

When Included Related Terms is turned on, all expanded synonyms will populate this section. All terms will be linkable and will run a new search when clicked. |
| All terms that are also in a tree, will show the
tree icon to the left of them. This icon will take users into a
multifile tree popup. |
Narrow Search
|
This includes: Narrow by Journals which shows the top five journals, Narrow by Subjects which shows the top five subjects and Narrow by Authors which shows the top five authors, all by hit count. |
At the top of each titles display, OvidSP shows the search statement that yielded the records and the number of records in the display.

If a full article is not available, users will go to the full reference. If PPV is available, the Buy Now icon is shown from the reference and the result display. Relevancy ranking only applies to records retrieved from searches run from the Basic Search tab. |

Browse the display to find records that OvidSP tags with a publication-stage label. These are Publish Ahead of Print (PAP) records.
