 Combining Searches

Beginning a search statement with an operator (and, not, or, with, near, or in) automatically combines that statement with the previous one. For instance, if the search you just completed is annuities, searching for or pensions will give you the same results as if you search for annuities or pensions. Similarly, the search assets- followed by the search in de is the same as assets- in de.

For efficient searching, use the most appropriate operator for your search:

OR

pensions or annuities

Retrieves records that contain either "pensions," "annuities," or both.

AND

pensions and annuities

Retrieves records that contain both "pensions" and "annuities."

WITH

pensions with annuities

Retrieves records that contain both "pensions" and "annuities" in the same field.

NEAR

pensions near annuities

Retrieves records that contain both "pensions" and "annuities" in the same sentence.

NOT

pensions not annuities

Retrieves records that contain "pensions" but not "annuities."

IN

annuities in de

Retrieves records that contain "annuities" in the DE (Descriptors) field.
