SilverPlatter Guides ABS Absorption
(soil near immobil*) in abs
This is one of the fields contained within the Environmental Fate superfield (ZENE). For more general information regarding Environmental Fate, see the Environmental Fate message field (ENEX).
The search above will find those substances which are immobile in soil. Note the use of the near operator which ensures that both terms are in the same sentence.
The environmental impact of a chemical substance is determined by its ability to move through the environment. This movement depends on the affinity of the chemical toward particulate matter; soil and sediment. Chemicals which have a high affinity for absorption are less readily transported in the gaseous phase or in solution, and therefore can accumulate in a particular medium. Chemical substances which are not readily absorbed are transported through soil, air and aquatic systems. The ABS field contains such information.
