Text Formatting and Style

Where possible and appropriate, the order and display of the fields and data in the DOSE records have been chosen in accordance with the original printed version.

However, it is not currently possible to handle typographical features such as italic, bold or underlined text. Similarly, superscripts and subscripts display as full-sized characters with the following provisos: all superscripts appearing in the ST field (Chemical Structure) are displayed within round brackets; subscripts indicating a pressure for boiling point data are similarly presented; specific gravity data accompanied by a temperature and pressure measurement (superscript over subscript) or BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) data in the BIOD field accompanied by 2 day values (superscript over subscript) both have these two numbers separated by the "/" character; in all other cases subscripts are shown as full-size characters without additional markup whereas superscripts are likewise shown expect in those cases where the superscripted characters begin with a positive integer in which case they are displayed within round brackets.
