The SO field lists the complete bibliographic citation, including: journal title abbreviation, journal title, publication year, serial publication date (if available), volume number, issue number, and pagination. The title abbreviations, titles, the volume number, and the page numbers are all searchable.

To retrieve variations of the journal title, select the complete hyphenated abbreviation exactly as it displays in the Index, or use the truncation symbol (*). The “EMBASE List of Journals Indexed” contains CODENs and journal abbreviations. See the journal list in this guide for journal names and CODENs. For most efficient searching, select the journal title from the Index.
