ERIC
Educational Resources
Information Center
The ERIC database consists of two files: the
Resources in Education (RIE) file of document citations and the Current Index
to Journals in Education (CIJE) file of journal article citations from over 750
professional journals. In addition, ERIC now contains over 850 ERIC Digest
records that feature the full text of the original document.
ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center), is an information system sponsored by the U.S. Department
of Education that generates the U.S. national bibliographic database covering
the literature of education.
ERIC is a network of 16 subject-specialized
clearinghouses, each responsible for collecting the literature in its own
subject area. Each clearinghouse is
identified by a two-letter code, listed in the Clearinghouse (CH) field in the
database.
ERIC also offers a document delivery service
through the ERIC Document Reproduction Service (EDRS). Availability and pricing information is
included in the records in the Level of Availability (LV), EDRS Price (PR),
Availability (AV), and EDRS Document Link (DL) fields.
