Descriptors are controlled vocabulary terms or subject headings from the Thesaurus of ERIC Descriptors, used to group documents on similar topics.

Minor Descriptors (DER) denote secondary topics. Although you can search with the DER field abbreviation, all Descriptors display with the DE field label.

For most precise results, search Descriptors as hyphenated, "bound" phrases. Hyphenate single-word Descriptors, such as dyslexia- in de, to limit the search to the single-word Descriptor.
