IDM MAJOR IDENTIFIERS

Identifiers retrieve highly specific subjects dealt with by a document. Major Identifiers (IDM) denote primary topics and are preceded by an asterisk in displayed records. Although you can search with the IDM field abbreviation, all Identifiers display with the ID field label.

For most precise results, search Identifiers as hyphenated, "bound" phrases. Hyphenate single-word Identifiers, such as orthography- in id, to limit the search to the single-word Identifier.
