You can search for an author name in the Personal Author (AU) field, or look up author names in the Personal Author Index Field-Specific Index.

Author names appear in the Personal Author (AU) field, and are hyphenated with the last name first. You can search for any portion of an author's name in this field. For example, the search smith in au retrieves records with smith in the AU field.

The most efficient way to search for an author's name in this field, is as a hyphenated, "bound" phrase. For example, the search smith-susan-sidney in au retrieves records with that exact author name.

Alternatively, you can browse for complete author names in the Personal Author Index (AUI) field. This field-specific index contains only complete author names exactly as they appear in the Personal Author field. The advantage of this index is that you know all names are those of authors.
