The LO field indicates the country in which the group that is the subject of the document is located. Most records prior to 1967 will not have this field. You can search using the field label (LO) or from the Population Location Index described below.

Browsing Country Names

As an alternative to searching with the field label, you can browse available location names and search for them directly from the Population Location Field-Specific Index. This field-specific index contains only country names drawn from the LO field, therefore, your search will always yield results. Search results display in the LO field.
