SilverPlatter Guides Using Limit Fields
Limit fields are specially-indexed fields that enable you to focus a search to records of documents with a specific characteristic such as publication year or language of text. They are particularly useful when combined with other search terms. Always use the field abbreviation along with in or = operators to search a limit field, such as review in pt or pt=review.
Age Group (AG) Audience Type (AT) Classification Code (CC) Correction Date (CD) Document Type (DT) Language (LA) Population Location (LO) Media Type (MT) Population (PO) Publication Type (PT) Publication Year (PY) Reference Author Index (RAI) Reference Source Index (RSI) Reference Title Index (RTI) Reference Year Index (RYI) Special Feature (SF) Update Code (UD) URLs, etc. (XURL)
For limit fields containing numeric data, you can also use other special operators to retrieve a range of data within a specific field:
< less than, such as py<1991 > greater than, such as py>1988 <= less than or equal to, such as py<=1991 >= greater than or equal to, such as py>=1988 - indicates a range, such as py=1988-1991
