Ovid delivers key Portuguese- and Spanish-language medical and nursing books and journals from Brazilian medical publisher Editora Atheneu to clinicians' desktops through the Atheneu Books product. Atheneu Books offers the complete text of these sources in a highly interlinked and easily navigated graphical interface, giving quick access to crucial diagnostic, research, and reference information.
Atheneu Books includes full text, references, updates, and graphics. A searcher can choose to run a search in one document, selected documents, or all documents. A browse feature is also available, by title or by subject. Within an individual book's interface, users can choose between HTML and PDF files. Button bars at the top of the text facilitate navigation and provide browsing and viewing options; users can also navigate using the "breadcrumb trail" at the top of the text. If the user is accessing a specific book, links are available to the text's table of contents and to the Search and Results screens, making it easier for searchers to jump from one book section to another. Journals provide access at the issue level.

Advanced Searching allows three sets of search terms, one set on each line. The lines may be connected with the Boolean operators "AND," "OR," or "NOT."
First Text Box: Enter your search terms in this box.
Second Text Box: Select "Any Words," "All Words" or "Exact Phrase." "Any Words" finds documents that contain any of the words in the search phrase. "All Words" searches for every document that contains all of the words, regardless of their locations with respect to one another. "Exact Phrase" returns only those documents in which the phrase appears as entered.
Third Text Box: Select "Title," "Author," or "Document." "Title" and "Author" are self-explanatory; "Document" searches the full text of the book or journal."
You can further refine your search by stipulating Language and/or Publication Year. Using the "Table of Contents" section allows searching to be limited to the type of document (Journal or Book) or specific sub-sets of each type.
