Dear Ovid customer:

Ovid is truly a global company, with customers in more than 150 countries. Underscoring our commitment to supporting the local language needs of all of our markets, we're introducing non-English language OvidSP interfaces. In early April we're releasing Spanish, German, and French interfaces, along with additional platform enhancements (see our email of February 13th for reference). Please watch for details next week on a specific date and time when all of the enhancements will be live.

So how will users be able to switch to another language? In the upper right-hand corner of the Select a Database page and the main search page, they’ll see hyperlinks that allow them to select their preferred language. See image below.

Please note that some items—including the English-language titles of our journals, books, and databases, as well as the content of search results—will continue to be displayed in English.

In our efforts to optimize performance timing, we’ve been working to identify any elements that may have a negative impact on speed. We’ve isolated any such features and are constantly working to resolve any conflicts that reduce the speed of searching. After reviewing customer feedback and testing different environments, we have temporarily removed the Similar Articles feature within the Search Aids box. We have found that some customers have already experienced significantly improved response times. Please watch for more information on when this feature will be incorporated back into OvidSP.
