Dear Ovid Customer:
We are pleased to announce that the April enhancements to
OvidSP and Nursing@Ovid are scheduled for deployment on
Tuesday, April 6th at 10:00 am Eastern Daylight Time
(14:00 GMT). Click here for a World Time Zone converter to
check the time for your local area. If you or one of your
users is in an OvidSP or Nursing@Ovid session at that time,
your session will continue uninterrupted until you log out or
your session times out. Visit the OvidSP
Resource Center for a schedule of training sessions,
preview screenshots, and more.
Trying out the New Enhancements
With
the deployment on April 6th, you'll see the following message
at the top of your OvidSP or Nursing@Ovid screen when you log
in:
Clicking on the Try it now! button will take
you into the new version of OvidSP where users can explore the
enhancements. Remember - you can test drive all the
enhancements while you still have access to your current
implementation through June 30th.
As a reminder, below are the scheduled enhancements:
- New Work Productivity
Tools
New search filters, a
“widget” approach to results management, and numerous new
citation management options, and more.
- My Workspace
Create work projects and
organize all of your research materials—individual articles,
search strategies, images, and more—into a dedicated area.
- Ovid Toolbar
This
downloadable tool lets you quickly and easily save critical
research material to My Workspace while you’re working
outside OvidSP or Nursing@Ovid. Ideal for Ovid Universal
Search too!
- Additional Interface Display Enhancements
A new main search page design
for more effective search and browse navigation,
“drag-and-drop” customization features, consolidation of
features and pages, and more.
Below is a preview of the enhanced Main Search Page.
All of your Ovid subscribed resources will be accessible in
the enhanced version.
And those with PIN accounts or non-shared user accounts can
take advantage of their customized settings and tools in the
new environment, too. Returning to your current OvidSP system
is easy—simply click the Return to previous
version link at the top of your screen. (Note: Primal
Pictures products and Clin-eguide are accessed via
the External Links button on the main search
page; Nursing@Ovid can also be accessed via this button).

Visit the
Ovid
Resource Center to order your OvidSP Launch Kit, scheduled
to deliver beginning in April. You'll get fully updated Quick
Reference Cards, product sheets, and other helpful materials
to promote the upcoming enhancements throughout your
institution.
