De-Duplication and View of all Non-Ovid Results Together Among Enhancements Scheduled for mid-November

Dear Ovid Customer:

Last week we announced upcoming enhancements to Ovid Universal Search™, our time-saving cross-platform search tool that allows users to search Ovid and non-Ovid sources, and manage all results within the OvidSP or Nursing@Ovid interface. All of the upcoming enhancements are designed to further improve and streamline navigation and how results are displayed so that users can quickly access full text.

One of the key enhancements scheduled for the November deployment is new functionality to de-duplicate records retrieved from multiple non-Ovid sources.

De-duplicate your non-Ovid (Universal Search) results
When searching multiple sources, the same record may be retrieved from more than one search platform and appear multiple times in a results set. We understand the need to show the research trail, so you’ll have the flexibility to view or hide duplicate records. And results display improvements make it easy to identify duplicates from the ‘master’ record result (the first record retrieved by the system).

View all non-Ovid (Universal Search) results in one set
To help you manage all your results more efficiently, all results retrieved from non-Ovid sources will be consolidated into a single Universal Search Results tab, which also displays the total number of non-Ovid results. OvidSP results will continue to be displayed in the OvidSP tab. If you prefer to see non-Ovid results displayed in multiple tabs of individual sources, simply switch your view.

Look for more information on additional enhancements scheduled for November—as well as details on the date and time of deployment—next week. Plus, stay tuned for sample screenshots to help provide a visual aid to all of these enhancements. Screenshots, Frequently Asked Questions, and other materials will be available soon in the Ovid Resource Center. Contact support@ovid.com if you have any questions.
