Full-Text Linking, Search Aid Functionality, and
Additional Interface Enhancements Included

Release Coming the Week of Nov. 16th

Last week we provided detail on new de-duplication functionality and enhancements to the display of non-Ovid (Universal Search) results that will be included as part of our upcoming release of Ovid Universal Search™, which is scheduled for the week of November 16th. Please see below for additional enhancements you and your users will see as part of this release:

• Full-text linking capabilities for Universal Search results
  When sufficient metadata is retrieved by Ovid Universal Search, links to Ovid full text and non-Ovid full text will be displayed with your result.

• Search Aid functionality for Universal Search results
  When viewing Universal Search results, the Search Aid will be visible and include: search terms used, an estimate of the total number of results available, the total number of results retrieved (to ensure optimum speed and performance, Ovid Universal Search initially retrieves a subset of all available results), and a list of every source searched. You can also filter results by a specific source, or by specific resources retrieved from a single source.

• Universal Search citation display
  Similar to OvidSP records, Universal Search records will include all available citation information, including title, author, publication, and other critical data. Links to the Complete Reference, source, and available full text will also be shown.

• Request to retrieve more results
  Clicking a new Get More link allows users to request additional results after the initial set of results has already been retrieved (please note that there may not be additional results; in that case, your subsequent results set may generate 0 results). 

All of these enhancements are designed to further align how users search using Ovid Universal Search, OvidSP, and Nursing@Ovid—providing a more efficient, streamlined research experience.
