Our Trainers are conducting real time, live online sessions to assist you with searching techniques on the Ovid interface. These sessions last an hour or less and give you the opportunity to interact with Ovid's Trainers. Register below for one of our online courses.

Does your hectic schedule make it difficult to attend one of our scheduled online training courses? Our pre–recorded webex sessions are accessible online 24 hours a day. The courses can be paused, restarted, fast forwarded and replayed. You will be able to see the interface screens and hear the trainer's instruction just as you would in live instructor–led sessions.

Introduction to OvidSP

Introduction to OvidSP (60 min) Designed for novice users or experienced users who may need a refresher on Ovid. This course will highlight the features and functionality of the OvidSP interface. It will review the various search modes that are available on OvidSP and how to work with the results from those searches (i.e. printing, emailing and exporting the records). Available in other languages

OvidSP Intermediate/Advanced Courses

My Projects (30 min) It is recommended that you take the "Introduction to OvidSP" class prior to the classes listed in this section. This course introduces and demonstrates the My Projects functionality in OvidSP — a dedicated work area to store, organize, and manage research projects and documents, including citations, full text, images, URLs, and more. Available in other languages
Basic Search on OvidSP (30 min) This class covers all aspects of the Basic Search Mode in OvidSP. A series of examples are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the Basic Search function (this is not just for beginners but also for more advanced users). Natural Language, Related Terms and Relevancy are just a few of the search strategies that are discussed in detail during this session. Available in other languages
Introduction to Command Line Searching (45 min) Expand your search efficiency and precision through the use of Command Line language. This course includes a detailed explanation of Boolean and positional operators, truncation and wildcards, the use of brackets, as well as the most popular quick search commands.
Creating AutoAlerts and eTOCs (30 min) Learn how to create, configure, edit, and delete a current awareness search, known as an AutoAlert, from an Ovid search strategy. Autoalerts can be configured to automatically deliver the latest search results via email, RSS feed, and/or directly into My Projects at time intervals of your choice. Also learn to create and manage eTOCs (electronic Table of Contents) deliverable via email or RSS feed to keep up with the latest articles in any of the 2800+ journals in the Journals@Ovid database.

Train The Trainer on OvidSP (60min) The Train the Trainer session offers direct interaction with an Ovid Trainer to help you prepare for your own internal training strategy. Such sessions are most effective when focused on your particular users and Ovid subscriptions, and are therefore offered upon request. Request a customized one–on–one Train–the–Trainer session.

Nursing@Ovid is presented in a series of 4 Modules designed to increase your skills and understanding of all the features available. The first module, Getting Started with N@O is geared to those with little or no experience with Nursing@Ovid. My Projects/My Workspace, Advanced and Multifield Search Modes are covered in Module 2. Browsing and/or searching Books@Ovid and Journals@Ovid is demonstrated in Modules 3 and 4. Practice exercises are included to reinforce the skills learned in each module.

Nursing@Ovid Training Sessions

Getting Started with Nursing@Ovid (60 min) This course is geared to those with little or no experience with Nursing@Ovid. The Basic Search Mode will be used exclusively to demonstrate how to search using Natural Language. Included is a brief description of Relevancy ranking, how to use Filters and/or limits to narrow searches. How to manage results using the Print, Email, Export icons is also covered in this course. This course will not include My Projects/My Workspace which is presented in a separate course. . Available in other languages
Intermediate Nursing@Ovid (60 min) This module builds on the skills presented in the Getting Started with Nursing@Ovid module and includes the Advanced Search Mode. How to use the Mapping to the controlled vocabulary in the Ovid Nursing Thesaurus, keyword searching, Boolean operators, combining searches, author, title and source searching are discussed in detail. Multifile searching and deduplicating is also detailed. In addition, you will learn how to create a project in MyProjects. Practice exercises to reinforce the skills presented are included at the end of each section.

OvidSP

Introducción a la plataforma OvidSP (90 min) Un curso ideal para los nuevos usuarios a OvidSP. El curso tendrá un enfoque en funcionalidades particulares del interfaz de OvidSP así como: diferencias entre los diferentes modos de búsqueda, y como visualizar textos completos y gestionar los resultados. Destacaremos Mi Espacio de Trabajo, un área personal donde un usuario pueda organizar sus investigaciones entre proyectos. También explicamos como guardar búsquedas y crear alertas, y como registrarse para recibir los sumarios electrónicos de revistas. Es recomendable que los usuarios asistan a este curso de "Introducción a OvidSP" antes que a cualquier otro curso.
EBMR en la plataforma OvidSP (60 min) Un curso para destacar la medicina basada en evidencia (MBE) en la plataforma de OvidSP. Mostraremos como OvidSP combina el movimiento de 7 de los recursos de MBE de mayor confianza en una sola base de datos completamente explorable. Introduzione alla piattaforma OvidSP (90 min) Un corso disegnato per gli utenti principianti ed anche esperti, che hanno bisogno di migliorare il loro conoscimento della piattaforma OvidSP. Il corso ha come obiettivo mostrare le funzioni particolari della interfaccia di OvidSP come; la differenza tra i diversi modi di ricerca, soprattutto la Ricerca di Base e la Ricerca Avanzata. Come visualizzare il testo completo dell'articolo e gestire risultati velocemente. Evidenziamo il Mio Spazio di Lavoro, un'area strutturata, dove gli utenti possono organizzare la loro ricerca tra progetti personali. Spiegheremo come salvare la cronologia di ricerca, creare gli alert e come registrarsi per ricevere il sommario elettronico dei periodici. É nostro consiglio che i nuovi utenti cominciano con il corso di "Introduzione alla Piattaforma OvidSP".
Il Mio Spazio di Lavoro e Miei Progetti (60 min) Un corso per gli utente già familiarizzati con l'interfaccia di OvidSP. Mostreremo il funzionamento del Mio Spazio di Lavoro, dove l'utente può accedere; i Miei Progetti, le Mie Ricerche Salvate e Alert, e Miei eTOC, spiegheremo come scaricare e utilizzare la Barra Strumento Ovid.
OvidMD — Il percorso più veloce alle risposte cliniche (60 min) Un corso disegnato specificamente per il personale clinico. Con OvidMD mostreremo come introdurre una domanda clinica per arrivare subito alle risposte cliniche. Vedremo insieme come visualizzare risultati delle risorse; UpToDate, Linee Guide della Pratica Clinica, Periodici, Libri, Banche Dati ed anche, come esportare Immagini e stampare Fogli per i Pazienti, e molto altro. Mostreremo come il medico potrà creare gli alert, spedire i risultati per email, ed esportare risultati a diversi Reference Manager.
Ricerca di Base in OvidSP (15 min) Con questo video vedremo comè possibile inserire una domanda completa in inglese, senza preoccuparsi delle sintassi particolari. OvidSP 培训班

OvidSP检索功能介绍 针对初级或中级用户的课程。该课程重点介绍OvidSP检索界面的特点与功能。逐一介绍各种检索模式，以及处理检索结果的方法（如：打印、发送邮件和导出记录）。
我的课题 课程介绍并演示OvidSP平台上的"我的课题"（My Projects）的功能-“我的课题”是一个用以存储、组织、与管理研究项目和文档的个人工作区，包括题录、全文、图片、链接等。
我的工作区和我的项目 为已经比较熟悉OvidSP平台的用户设计。课程介绍了OvidSP平台“我的项目”与“我的工作区”的新功能，深入讲解了如何使用位于“我的工作区”内的“我的项目”、“我的检索”、“自动定题通告”，和“期刊推送”各项功能。
高级检索 (8 分钟) 高级检索课件介绍了高级检索的功能，包括如何按期刊名称查找文献、如何按文章标题关键词检索，如何按作者名检索，并重点介绍了如何进行关键词检索，以及利用主题词自动匹配的功能查找主题词表。最后，介绍了高级检索的有关技巧如：组合检索、截词符、替代符等的使用。
自动定题通告 (5 分钟) 自动定题通告介绍了如何创建检索策略的自动定题通告来帮助您随时跟踪最新研究进展。对通过两种方式保存定题通告：将检索策略保存为电子邮件定题通告，或将检索策略保存为RSS定题通告。
基本检索 (9 分钟) OvidSP平台的基本检索是自然语言检索，通过基本检索可以在最短的时间里找到最新发表的相关文献。基本检索的结果不仅包含Ovid平台上的文献，还可以检索到来自MedKnow和PubMed Central等开放访问的内容。基本检索提供包含相关词汇的功能，可以有效地扩大检索结果。基本检索的结果自动按相关度排序。利用结果工具，可以对检索结果按相关度、主题、作者、出版物类型等进行聚类。
全文期刊数据库使用 (12 分钟) Ovid期刊数据库培训课件细致地讲解了如何登录OvidSP平台，如何通过基本检索快速找到最新相关文献，利用高级检索精确定位最相关文章的步骤，在什么情况下以及如何使用字段检索、多字段检索和常用字段检索。怎样利用更多限定快速缩小检索结果，获取全文，及文章管理工具等。最后，介绍了期刊浏览功能。
