The British Medical Journal serves the international medical profession as a medium for the exchange of information and ideas. Each issue contains important, peer-reviewed scientific papers on original research, culled from among the 6000-7000 submitted each year. In addition, editorials are presented on the social and political impact of medical advancements, healthcare delivery systems, and medical decision-making.
