Published in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and State Ministry for Scientific Research (ENSTINET) and the Institute of Psychiatry at Ain Shams University in Cairo, the journal is aimed at psychiatrists and mental health professionals in Egypt and the Middle East, including students and trainees taking degrees, masters, and doctorates in psychiatry.

The journal's aims are to: highlight scientific research in Egypt and the Middle East; advance mental health services in Egypt and the Middle East; and encourage articles regarding the implementations of ethical codes in psychiatry, e.g., the Madrid Declaration. Authors are encouraged to submit original research articles and educational editorials.
