Original research on all apsects of medical genetics
Since its launch in 1964, the Journal of Medical Genetics has provided readers with reports of original research in medical genetics, and is the first journal to be devoted specifically to medical genetics. Published monthly, the journal covers a range of topics from basic research on medically relevant aspects of the human genome to clinical reports, diagnostic methods and psychosocial aspects of clinical genetics.
The Journal of Medical Genetics features original papers, short reports, general reviews and conference reports on all aspects of medical genetics, as well as the recently updated "syndrome of the month." Research areas of special emphasis include Molecular Genetics and its Clinical and Cytogenetic Applications; Dysmorphology: the Delineation and Genetic Basis of New Syndromes; Fundamental Aspects of Human Genetics; Development of Medical Genetic Services; and the Ethical and Social Aspects of Medical Genetics.
