End of training certification changes

There has been much anxiety in recent weeks about the intention of the Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board (PMETB) to issue a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) as opposed to a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST), which hitherto we had all believed we were working towards. There have been questions about the justice of ‘moving the goalposts’ for those already in training, as well as worries about the CCT holders becoming a subgrade of junior consultant. This month's single article articulates those concerns fully.
