The Psychological Foundations of Culture

Mark Schaller is Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of British Columbia. His research interests include social inference, group stereotypes and prejudice, evolutionary psychology, and the origins of culture. He has authored many journal articles and book chapters.

Christian S. Crandall is Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Kansas. He has published numerous articles and book chapters and has served as the Editor of Dialogue and Associate Editor of Personality and Social Psychology. His research interests include attitudes, prejudice, and socialization.

John Berry is Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Queen's University. He is a Fellow of the International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology and the Canadian Psychological Association. He has published over 30 books in the areas of cross-cultural, social, and cognitive psychology, most recently, Cross-cultural psychology: Research and applications (2nd ed., 2002, Cambridge University Press). His main research interests are in the cultural ecology of human behaviour, and in acculturation and intercultural relations, with an emphasis on applications to immigration, educational, and health policy.
