Small group work in the GP training year: one course organiser’s experience

Our first piece this time is from a course organiser looking back at the group work she has facilitated. It’s refreshing to see that the old-fashioned ‘soft’ values of general practice are still alive and well somewhere.

We continue with an article about training GPs to mentor poorly performing colleagues. Often we hear about mentoring being ‘prescribed’ for colleagues whose dif-ficulties come to the notice of primary care trusts (PCTs). It’s encouraging to know that, in one deanery at least, a cadre of suitably trained mentors is there to help.

Finally, John Sandars gives us some useful tips on Google Docs and Spreadsheets. This may seem very technical but John explains things very simply and demonstrates a very useful tool for collaborative learning.
