Education for Primary Care 14(2):p 230-237, May 2003.

First we hear again from the Yorkshire Deanery, this time about mentoring and supervision. I hope this account will inspire many of you to start similar programmes in your own neighbourhoods. At the time of writing, Radcliffe Medical Press is about to publish a book called Supervision and Support in Primary Care. This should be useful in helping you decide on the type of approach that seems most appropriate for you. In addition, the Department of Health is keen to support mentoring and the findings of a survey of mentoring schemes carried out on their behalf by Dr Jolyon Oxley should be available by the time you read this.
