In the UK we feel that we have a unique brand of general practice. In a shrinking world, there is a lot that is similar in the international health world. The most alarming thought is about the constant pace of change and ‘reform’. We would hope that, as scientists, our example of testing and piloting things would be followed by our political leaders. Agreed change, properly thought through to achieve positive goals, is a good thing: change for change’s sake is not. Guess which one we are having a surfeit of right now. Bah! Humbug!
