Catriona Jones is a Research Associate and a Lecturer in Midwifery at the University of Hull. Since becoming a midwife in 1996 she has practised in a variety of midwifery settings in the UK, working alongside women and their families within a number of different models of maternity care. Catriona has worked at the University of Hull since 2004, and is currently undertaking a 12 month research fellowship secondment within the University, leading on, and contributing to a number of midwifery focused research projects including the initiation and uptake of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) in local childbearing women, and peer support initiatives for the treatment and prevention of postnatal depression. Catriona continues to maintain her links with clinical practice and is committed to writing meaningful papers, and publishing in journals that impact upon practitioners at a grass roots level.
