Legs can rest easy with pramipexole

Pramipexole is an effective treatment for restless legs syndrome (RLS), according to data presented at the 9th International Congress of Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders [New Orleans, Louisiana, US; March 2005]. In a 6-week study, patients receiving once-daily doses of pramipexole had rapid improvements in RLS symptoms, which persisted for the entire treatment period. Furthermore, improvements in symptoms were observed both during the day and at night. Pramipexole also produced greater sleep satisfaction and improvements in mood disturbances, compared with placebo.
