Dr. Arijit Roy is a recognized authority in carotid body (CB) physiology, with a primary research focus on the mechanisms that regulate CB chemosensitivity. His work aims to develop therapeutic strategies for diseases such as asthma, sleep apnea, obesity, and hypertension ‐ conditions increasingly linked to CB dysfunction. Dr. Roy has developed a novel ex vivo CB preparation that is widely regarded as a gold‐standard method to study the CB chemosensitivity. His innovative approach bridges basic science and translational medicine, offering new pathways for intervention in cardiopulmonary and metabolic disorders.
