Centre for Ethics in Medicine, University of Bristol
Trudy Goodenough is a qualified nurse and midwife; she moved out of midwifery and into research with children following the completion of her PhD in developmental psychology in 1991. She has been actively involved in looking at the ethical issues of research with children and young people since she joined the Centre for Ethics in Medicine in February 2001, where she is now employed as a Welcome Research Associate on the Young Research Ethics Committees Project (YREC). The aim of the YREC project is to teach young people more about science and citizenship by engaging them in group decision-making about cutting edge biomedical research, using an ethical framework.
