Margaret McKenna, PhD, MPH, MN, is the owner of a consulting firm, ConTEXT Sociocultural Research and Analysis, and is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Health Services at the University of Washington in Seattle. She received her doctorate in anthropology from the University of Washington in Seattle. Her research interests include the use of alternate systems of care, preventive health behavior, and the development of cultural competence. She is a former president of the Transcultural Nursing Society.
