NRTI-Related Lactic Acidosis in an HIV-Infected Woman

When Lana came to our clinic with a cd4 count of 5, she had a credible history of antiretroviral complications, having stopped AZT therapy because of anemia and d4T therapy because of nausea, vomiting, and fatigue. Lana experienced unexplained abnormalities on liver tests, and the presence of the K103N mutation limited our treatment options.
