About the Author
Robin Knobel received her MSN and neonatal nurse practitioner certificate from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. She worked as an NICU staff nurse for 13 years and then an NNP for 12 years. Robin completed her PhD in nursing at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in May 2006 with dissertation research in thermoregulation after birth in extremely low birth weight infants. She is the co-column editor for the Neonatal Network Lab Values column.
