About the Authors
Amy L. Williford earned her BSN from East Carolina University in 2001 and began her nursing career in the NICU at Pitt County Memorial Hospital (part of University Health Systems of Eastern North Carolina). She returned for graduate education in 2005 and earned her MSN, specializing as an NNP in 2006. She is currently working as an NNP in the NICU at PCMH.
Linda M. Pare graduated from Metropolitan General Hospital School of Nursing, Windsor, Ontario, Canada, in 1972. She has worked in psychiatry, oncology, with IV teams in Windsor and Goderich, Ontario, and has managed a family practice facility in Kincardine, Ontario. Linda is currently employed in the NICU at PCMH in Greenville, North Carolina, as a clinical coach, CVL and developmental care team member, research assistant for the follow-up clinic, and charge nurse.
Gabrielle T. Carlson graduated from Michigan State University in 2000 with a BS in nutritional science. In 2002, she graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a MPH in Human Nutrition. Since then, she has trained and worked as an adult and pediatric inpatient and outpatient dietitian in Michigan, Texas, and now North Carolina, where she provides service primarily to the NICU at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville. She also teaches an introductory nutrition course at Pitt Community College in Winterville.
