Phenomenology: to wonder and search for meanings

  • Kleiman, Susan PhD, RN, CS, NPP
Nurse Researcher 11(4):p 7-19, 2004.

In this article, Susan Kleiman presents a template for implementing a Husserlian, descriptive phenomenological method of inquiry in nursing research. The article is inspired by the growing interest in phenomenology as a viable nursing research methodology, and by the many variations and permutations of the method presented in the scholarly literature. Attention is directed towards conceiving the question, design issues, data collection, analysis and articulation of a structure of the phenomenon of interest
