Abstract
Embedding research into nursing practice is fundamental to promoting evidence-based healthcare. However, nurses have fewer opportunities than their medical colleagues to conceive and deliver research. The research activity, skill and support for respiratory nurses to conduct research in their field - including key barriers and facilitators - have not been explored. To understand the current research deficit in respiratory nursing, we conducted a training needs analysis of respiratory nurses' research capability, skills and knowledge.
