Curriculum and Assessment for Students With Moderate and Severe Disabilities (see record 2001-00366-000) addresses the issue of bridging the gap between assessment and intervention for individuals with moderate and severe disabilities. This gap remains a challenge in the field of special education, and a number of authors have taken up the challenge with varied results. This book is quite successful in bridging the gap because the assessment procedures described virtually reflect the curriculum; they are one and the same, and easily flow back and forth between the two. D. M. Browder's book is useful and informative, and it is an important source of procedural information for all professionals working with students with moderate and severe disabilities.
