This statement was adopted by each of the editors and was published in their respective journals, in or near July 1999 (Ann Thorac Surg 1999;68:1). After this, Dr Franklin Rosenfeldt, Editor of the Asia Pacific Heart Journal, expressed the desire that his journal be included in the consortium of cardiothoracic journals, and that he wished to endorse the statement. The editors welcome Dr Rosenfeldt and his journal. The revised Joint Statement follows.
